The Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum is Germany's annual international congress which addresses the role of media in politics and civil society. Focusing on a variety of hot topical issues, the conference draws over 2,000 experts in the fields of journalism, digital media, politics, culture, business, development, academia and civil society from all over the world. The Global Media Forum is a platform for the discussion and creation of ideas on media trends, foreign policy and their impact on helping overcome the challenges of global development.

This event normally takes place in person.

However, due to the pandemic, the Global Media Forum 2020 kicks off with this virtual session on June 24: "The blame game: What is the media's responsibility in the corona crisis?"

We will discuss journalism’s responsibility in times of the corona pandemic. This online session takes place as part of our digital conference.
