Workshops and Fellowships

USC Annenberg Center for Health Journalism's annual reporting grants and health journalism fellowships will be held Jul 16-20, 2023. Preference given to reporters pursuing collaborative projects between mainstream and ethnic news outlets. Deadline is May 5.

The Institutes for Journalism & Natural Resources will, for the first time, conduct SEJ's Post-Conference Tour, Oct 11-14, 2009. Journalists chosen as fellows will explore several newsworthy destinations in northern Wisconsin. Apply by: August 10, 2009.

The Fellowships comprise one week of dialogue with professional colleagues and experts at the East-West Center in Hawaii, followed by a two-week study tour to cities in Asia or the U.S. Theme of the 2024 Program is "Partnerships, Postures and Perils: Assessing East Asia Security and Economic Environments." The Institutes for Journalism & Natural Resources is inviting applications for its Puget Sound Institute, a nine-day journey in July 2009 through parts of northwest Washington that will examine a variety of newsworthy topics.

Blue Earth Alliance fiscally sponsors documentary projects that educate the public about critical environmental and social issues, especially under-represented stories and voices. Projects can be of any geographic scope involving the photographic and motion picture mediums. Next deadline: Mar 31, 2021.
